If you or someone you know – a family member, a friend, a
friend of a friend – have ever been touched by Alzheimer’s Disease, I ask that
you please consider supporting the Medina County walk! You can do so by
purchasing a sign of support, or by participating yourself!
Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in the United
States, and the only one in the top 10 without a cure, treatment, or
prevention. We are working to learn more every day on the path to ending
Alzheimer’s. Your support will help us advance our research and to continue to
provide free programs and services to those affected by memory loss and their
caregivers in the Medina County community.
I am personally inviting you to join me for the Walk to End
Alzheimer’s on Saturday, September 21st at the Medina Community
Recreation Center. This year, we have a lot to celebrate both in the local as
well as the global Alzheimer’s community, and the walk will highlight the
amazing work our local volunteers do to raise awareness and to help find a cure
for Alzheimer’s and other related dementia diseases.
You can visit act.alz.org/medinacounty for more information and to register!
One of my major goals for this year’s Walk is for
participants to know just how supported they are by the local community: our
leaders, our business owners, our neighbors, and our friends. I dream of a
pathway to the walk route lined with signs of support for participants and
their loved ones. As a result, we’ve added a Sign of Support day of marketing
opportunity for our community partners. As a Sign of Support sponsor, our partners
will have a garden sign with their logo on it that will line the walk for our
participants as a visible reminder that they are not alone. This is the perfect
opportunity to highlight your business, or to provide words of encouragement to
caregivers and family members who have lost their loved ones to this disease.
If you would like to get involved in this year’s walk as a
community partner, volunteer, or sponsor, please let me know. I am happy to
answer any questions you may have or to help guide you through the process.
Thank you for your continued support, and I hope to see you
at this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s!
